EXPO impressions from Shanghai by newsletter
Inxmail and re-lounge support the Green City of Freiburg with email marketingFreiburg, Germany/Shanghai, China, 9 July 2010. As one of four German cities, Freiburg is represented at the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai as an international example for sustainable urban planning and is supported by the two email marketing experts Inxmail and re-lounge by means of a newsletter. The monthly ‘EXPO News’ newsletter, which was designed by the Freiburg-based media agency re-lounge, provides insights and highlights at the trade show stand. The email marketing provider Inxmail, which is also based in Freiburg, provided its
Inxmail Professional solution to create the highly personalised newsletter and send it to EXPO fans.
According to a statement by the organisers at FWTM (Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe, which is Freiburg’s marketing and management organisation), Freiburg is the only city to present the holistic concept of the ‘Green City’ and to offer professional visitors a particularly wide range of information. ‘An ideal basis for exciting email marketing’ is how Peter Ziras, Managing Director of Inxmail, describes the reason behind the co-sponsoring initiative. Five building-like cubes are located on an exhibition area of 260 m² and represent the versatility of the Green City of Freiburg in the spirit of the EXPO’s slogan ‘Better City, Better Life’. “The visual concept of our Green City newsletter reflects the holistic approach embodied by the EXPO slogan”, says Dietmar vom Berg, Managing Director of re-lounge.
“It is important to us to establish a link between Freiburg and the events at the World Exposition,” explains FWTM Managing Director Bernd Dallmann. To achieve this, the newsletter is aimed not only at Freiburg residents, but also to friends of the EXPO and of the city of Freiburg, both in China and all over the world. New media enhance the communications spectrum and, Dallmann continues, “we look forward to meeting our expert partners on site”.
With the tagline ‘Better City, Better Life’, EXPO 2010 takes place from 1 May to 31 October in Shanghai, China. For the first time in the history of the World Exposition, there will be an ‘Urban Best Practice Area’. This area will contain exhibitions on cities that have successfully committed themselves to climate protection. Freiburg will be represented as a best practice example for sustainable urban planning.
